2. Application Fields:
Ethyl acetate (EA), also known as acetic acid ethyl ester, is an important downstream product of acetic acid. It has excellent solubility and fast-drying properties, primarily used in industries for:
(1) Solvent: For coatings (paints and varnishes), adhesives, ethyl cellulose, artificial leather, linoleum colorants, and synthetic fibers.
(2) Adhesive: Used in the production of printing inks, artificial pearls, etc.
(3) Extraction Agent: Used in the production of pharmaceuticals and organic acids.
(4) Flavoring Agent: Used as a raw material in the production of fruit flavors such as pineapple, banana, strawberry, and flavorings for whiskey, cream, etc.
(5) Textile Industry: Used as a cleaning agent, among other applications. It has broad applications and a promising development outlook.
3. Usage Precautions:
Ethyl acetate is flammable, and its vapor can form explosive mixtures with air. Exposure to open flames or high heat can cause combustion and explosion. It reacts violently with oxidizing agents. In fire scenarios, heated containers may explode. Its vapor is heavier than air and can spread to distant locations at lower levels, igniting upon encountering a flame. Vapors can cause drowsiness and dizziness. Prolonged exposure may lead to skin dryness and cracking.
The product should be stored in a cool, ventilated warehouse, with temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Avoid direct sunlight and keep containers sealed. Store separately from oxidizing agents, acids, and bases. The storage area should be equipped with emergency spill response equipment and appropriate containment materials.
