2. Application Fields:
Butyl acrylate is a soft monomer that can copolymerize, cross-link, and graft with various hard monomers such as methyl methacrylate, styrene, acrylonitrile, vinyl acetate, and functional monomers such as (meth)acrylic acid hydroxyethyl ester, hydroxypropyl ester, glycidyl ester, (meth)acrylamide, and their derivatives. These reactions yield over 200-700 types of acrylic resins (primarily emulsion-type, solvent-type, and water-soluble type). It is used in coatings, adhesives, acrylic fiber modification, plastic modification, fiber and fabric processing, paper treatment agents, leather processing, and acrylic rubber, among many other applications.
3. Usage Precautions:
*Polymerization Hazard: The tendency for self-polymerization increases with rising temperature and prolonged storage time.
*Conditions to Avoid: Exposure to light and heat.
*Incompatible Materials: Strong acids, strong bases, and strong oxidizing agents.
*Combustion (Decomposition) Products: Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide.
*Hazard Category: Class 3.3 high flash point flammable liquids
